Now, we’re expanding our software team in Uppsala with two new colleagues: a Junior and a Senior Software Engineer. The software you’ll work on

You’ll work with our in-house application software PEAK, which controls acquisition of photoelectron spectra with Scienta Omicron analyzers. PEAK is a modern platform designed to optimize data acquisition, workflow, and live visualization for researchers. It’s developed entirely by our software team and constantly evolving to support the needs of cutting-edge scientists.

Your work will include

• Developing PEAK and other software solutions for surface science instruments
• Collaborating closely with highly skilled R&D Scientists on new features
• Prototyping and testing directly with the instruments
• Taking part in architectural and design decisions
• As Senior: leading technical coherence, supporting others, and taking system-level responsibility
• As Junior: building skills in a supportive and deeply technical team

What you bring

• Strong coding skills in C++, C#, and Python
• Experience with embedded systems is a big plus
• Curiosity, technical depth, and willingness to dig into complex problems
• A collaborative and pragmatic mindset
• A strong interest in advanced technology and hardware interaction
• For Senior: readiness to take ownership and transform our architecture
• For Junior: solid foundations and a hunger to learn
