Junior Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income

Our client is a highly regarded global asset manager who is seeking a fixed income professional to join the portfolio management team.

The successful candidate will work directly alongside Fixed Income Portfolio Managers and Traders covering global bond markets.

The key responsibilities include:

• Implementation of strategies across portfolios including trade construction, careful monitoring of and acting upon asset flows, checking compliance with client and internal guidelines, using various computerised tools including portfolio optimization techniques
• Analyse risk characteristics of portfolios and ensure consistency across strategies
• Assist portfolio managers/analysts/sales and marketing with special projects related to the markets and/or the portfolios (e.g., sourcing data, investigating holdings across the account base, obtaining prospectuses/documentation, running quantitative models, assist in the preparation of market reviews as part of client service, etc.)
• Support the global portfolio management and research teams as an information resource by liaising with the sell-side; provide ongoing information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume and price volatility

The skills required:

• 2-5 years’ relevant experience within a similar position working in the front office
• Strong working knowledge of fixed income markets
• Strong academic background with a finance/mathematical relate degree
• Ideally working towards professional qualifications such as the CFA
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
