Junior Project Developer

Location : Munich (Hybrid)

Salary : €45,000 – 50,000 + 30% Annual Bonus

My client is looking for a Junior Project Developer to support the development of large-scale battery storage (BESS) projects in Southern Germany, as they expand their presence in the rapidly growing energy storage market.

You will play a key role in expanding the company’s footprint in the German energy storage market – with a focus on Southern Germany.

• The company was founded in 2010 and has 180 employees globally, operating in 15 countries.
• Over 1 GWh of operational battery storage.
• Previously held the record for Europe’s largest BESS project
• Rapid expansion in the German market, focusing on 50 – 300 BESS projects

Key Responsibilities

• Take technical and commercial responsibilities for large-scale battery storage projects (50-300 MW), from post-land acquisition to RTB.
• Lead and coordinate permitting, planning, and all development related activities, including procurement and management of external service providers.
• Represent projects in discussions with landowners, authorities, grid operators, consultants, and internal teams.
• Maintain up to date documentation, timelines, and data in internal project systems.
• Support during the construction phase of the project.

Requirements

• Degree in relevant field such as renewable energy, environmental / energy engineering, geography, urban / spatial planning, or business / industrial engineering.
• Some practical experiences in project development (internships or junior roles). Alternatively, transferable project development skills from other relevant sectors.
• Understanding of the German renewables market is preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to take project responsibility early and grow into a mid-senior role over time.
• Eager to learn quickly, take initiative, and work independently when needed.
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment.
• Open to feedback and guidance from more senior team members.
• Fluent German (C1 or native).
• Based in or willing to relocate to Munich.
