Tasks

As a Lead Structural Engineer/ Sr. Naval Architect (m/w/d), you will oversee structural engineering solutions for shipbuilding and refit projects. Your responsibilities include guiding junior staff, conducting structural assessments, and ensuring compliance with class rules. The role demands strategic thinking and practical problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hand calculations to develop structural solutions and verify structural integrity.
• Review and analyze ship structures for compliance with class rules and regulations.
• Develop and optimize structural designs focusing on integrity and efficiency.
• Mentor and support junior engineers' professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project objectives.
• Manage subcontractors.
• Provide technical insights during design and production phases.

Job Requirements

• 10+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Conversational German skills (minimum B1).
• Proven experience in structural engineering within shipyards.
• Proficiency in hand calculations for structural analysis.
• Understanding of class rules and shipbuilding regulations.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of CADMATIC is advantageous.
• This is an onsite role requiring relocation to Bremerhaven.
