Maintenance Planner

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Maintenance Planner to work at our operations in Sechelt, BC . Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this opportunity is perfect for the heavy industrial professional who is looking to grow their career with an industry leader. What You’ll Get to Do

• Plan and optimize maintenance activities for fixed plant equipment, including shutdown strategies and long‑term planning.
• Analyze maintenance data (reports, work orders, history) to improve scheduling, procedures, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
• Manage parts procurement and CMMS usage to support transparent and effective maintenance planning.
• Support budgeting, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with safety and workplace policies.

What We Are Looking For:

• Technical Background: Journeyperson Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma preferred; engineering experience (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Process) is an asset.
• Industrial Maintenance Expertise: Strong knowledge of heavy industry operations, safety, and maintenance planning, with hands‑on craft skills (Millwright, Welding, Electrical).
• Project & System Proficiency: Skilled in project planning (Gantt charts), CMMS usage, and managing multiple projects with effective documentation and record keeping.
• Diagnostic & Analytical Skills: Experience with condition‑based monitoring (oil/vibration analysis), interpreting OEM manuals, and sourcing parts from various vendors.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Work Environment:

• Role operates in an office and manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions. Heidelberg Materials is a drug‑free workplace.
