At Helmholtz Munich we develop groundbreaking solutions for a healthier society in a rapidly changing world. The research focus of the Institute of Diabetes Research (IDF) lies on understanding the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes, on identifying mechanisms and predictive markers of the disease, and on translating findings into clinical trials to prevent type 1 diabetes in humans. The Type 1 Diabetes Pathology Research Unit led by Dr. Teresa Rodriguez-Calvo is offering a master’s thesis project for a motivated student (f/m/x) to join our collaborative team studying type 1 diabetes. Your master’s thesis involves investigating the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes in humans by analyzing pancreatic tissue sections provided by the Network for Pancreatic Organ Donors with Diabetes (nPOD) using advanced imaging techniques.
