Mechanical Design Engineer

based in Brandenburg—working on advanced mechanical systems that power wind energy, solar integration, and storage solutions. My client is seeking a technically strong Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer to support design and development of machinery and sub-systems used across next-gen renewable infrastructure

• Role - Mechanical Design Engineer
• Duration - 6-12 months
• Industry - Renewable Energy / Industrial Machinery
• Rate - Negotiable Per/Hour in €
• Location - Hybrid - Brandenburg

• Create and revise 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings (SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD/Plant 3D).
• Support concept-to-prototype design of mechanical assemblies used in wind turbines, biogas systems, or energy storage modules.
• Conduct DFM/DFA reviews, tolerance studies, and basic stress/load calculations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including fabrication, R&D, and external suppliers.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in mechanical design—preferably in machinery or energy sectors.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or Inventor.
• Understanding of materials, machining processes, and technical standards (DIN/ISO).
• Experience in renewable energy or machinery is a strong plus.
• German language skills are a plus; English fluency required.
• Eligible to work in Germany as a freelancer (Freiberufler or via Ltd company).
