Mechatronics/Prototyping Wizard (m/f/d) – Defense Radar SystemsLocation: Erlangen, Germany, onsite Wolf Radar operates at the intersection of a new era of security challenges and the existential need to secure European technological sovereignty.To tackle this challenge, we are actively developing and deploying cutting-edge radar and sensor systems that are resilient, high-performance, and ready for mass production for use in defense. We are looking for a driven Mechatronics Engineer to be the crucial link between mechanics, electronics, and software for our next-generation defense radar platforms. Your Core Mission in the Engineering TeamAs our Mechatronics Engineer, you ensure the flawless physical and functional integration of all hardware components. You will manage the entire lifecycle from concept development to functional testing, focusing on making our radar platforms robust, mobile, and high-performance. Your Key ResponsibilitiesPrototyping & Integration: Hands-on design and build of functional prototypes and experimental setups, rapidly moving from idea to physical system.Motion Control Systems: Develop, implement, and tune precise motor control systems for antenna positioning and platform stabilization.Design & Construction (CAD): Create and revise mechanical designs, enclosures, and mounting solutions using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor), focusing on structural integrity and manufacturability.Embedded Prototyping: Implement and test low-level embedded systems and microcontrollers to drive electromechanical components.Thermal Management: Design and validate thermal management solutions (e.g., cooling strategies) for high-power electronic components using tools like FEA/CFD (Finite Element Analysis/Computational Fluid Dynamics).Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous environmental and functional tests to ensure our platforms meet stringent performance and reliability standards. Your Profile (Soft Skills, Education & Experience)Academic Excellence: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field.Hands-on Mentality: You possess a strong practical and problem-solving mindset, capable of quickly translating designs into functioning hardware and troubleshooting issues in the lab or field.Technical Fluency: You are proficient with common programming languages for embedded systems (e.g., C/C++) and control systems (e.g., MATLAB).Domain Interest (Strong Plus): Experience or a strong interest in Radar Systems, RF hardware integration, mobile platforms, or Defense/Aerospace is highly valued.Collaboration & Communication: You are a proactive, results-oriented team player with strong communication skills (Fluent English is mandatory) for seamless collaboration with electronics and software teams.
