The Opportunity

We are looking for a full‑time Media Manager DACH for our Frankfurt office. The role is a key member of the local Marketing team, responsible for defining and executing the local media strategy within the global and regional framework, covering the full media landscape. The media manager will lead digital and media transformation, partner with internal teams, retail partners, and agencies to strengthen Mattel’s media presence and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive media and digital transformation by leading upskilling initiatives, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive media action plan and market priorities aligned with Mattel’s global strategy.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the media team to deliver excellence across all media touchpoints.
  • Implement global and regional media capabilities locally, filling operational gaps and designing plans for local opportunities.
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end media briefing process in collaboration with Brand Managers, agencies, and media partners.
  • Act as the primary liaison for media agencies, ensuring performance excellence and strategic fit; evaluate and onboard new partners when needed.
  • Design and drive the local media test‑and‑learn roadmap, launching pilot initiatives and sharing best practices.
  • Coordinate with regional media teams to ensure alignment and consistent execution of Mattel’s media strategy across markets.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related field; certification in Digital/Online Marketing is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in media, online marketing, digital media, or e‑commerce, preferably in FMCG, consumer goods, or leading online retail.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and foster a test‑and‑learn culture.
  • Successful record managing media strategies across multiple brands or categories.
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and knowledge of digital analytics tools.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages beneficial.
