Mission Systems Engineer - Electronic Warfare Ground Systems (d/f/m)
In order to support “Electronic Warfare Ground Support Solutions”, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Mission Systems Engineer who will develop and maintain mission support and planning systems for our flying platforms A400M, Eurofighter, Eurodrone, Tornado and FCAS at the Airbus sites in Manching, Germany and Getafe, Spain. The role focuses on the generation and evaluation of mission‑specific data, provides interfaces to airborne systems and supports the analysis of mission execution while meeting operational requirements for a diverse customer base.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities
- Be an active player during all phases of the systems engineering process (V‑Model).
- Analyse avionics system design/requirements and operational requirements.
- Perform requirements definition, interface definition and system design activities to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Elaborate system/subsystem technical documentation, user manuals, training materials and other technical publications for the customer/end user.
- Prepare for system qualification, e.g., Acceptance Test Plans and Acceptance Test Procedures, based on system/subsystem designs.
- Foster collaboration within the project team and with involved stakeholders – internal and external.
- Actively support the continuous improvement of our products, projects and processes.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
- University Engineering Degree or Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Systems Engineering (preferably in Aeronautics or the Military sector).
- Knowledge of systems/software engineering life cycle and experience in all phases of it.
- Working experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: self‑defensive systems, radar systems, and electronic support systems.
- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles and an interest in mission data for Electronic Warfare Support.
- Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence).
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such as DOORS and QFTest (testing automation).
- Good command of English; German is an advantage.
- Strong team player, independent working method and high quality awareness.
This position may require a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognized authorities.
