Project Overview
We manage a network of 40 golf-course websites and need an automated system that detects changes to each club’s “Team / Management” page (e.g., new CEO, President, Club Manager, etc.). Your task is to design, build, and document an n8n workflow that scrapes each site on a schedule, compares the current staff list with historical data, and notifies us when new positions or personnel appear.


Key Responsibilities

1. Workflow Design
   • Create a clear, modular n8n architecture using Schedule Trigger, HTTP Request, AI/Text-processing, Compare Datasets, and Notification nodes.
   • Implement error handling, logging, and retry logic.


2. Web Scraping & Parsing
   • Configure HTTP Request nodes (or Puppeteer/Playwright via n8n if needed) to fetch HTML from 40 URLs.
   • Extract staff names, titles, and contact info in both German and English.
   • Build or integrate a position-library (e.g., “Geschäftsführer, Präsident, Club Manager”) to improve detection accuracy.


3. Change Detection
   • Store historical snapshots (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL, Airtable, or JSON-file) and compare new data to identify added, removed, or modified positions.
   • Filter out false-positive changes (formatting, order, whitespace).


4. Alerts & Reporting
   • Send email and/or Slack notifications summarizing detected changes.
   • Provide a simple dashboard (could be Google Sheet or n8n UI) listing the change history for each course.


5. Documentation & Handover
   • Deliver a README with environment variables, installation steps, and maintenance tips.
   • Record a short Loom or Screenshots walk-through of the workflow.


Deliverables

1. Fully functional n8n workflow (.json export).
2. Position-library file (CSV/JSON) with German/English role keywords.
3. Connection instructions for external DB or file storage.
4. Documentation & tutorial video.
5. Two-week post-delivery support (bug-fixes, minor tweaks).


Required Skills

• Proven n8n experience (please share at least one public workflow or demo).
• Strong knowledge of web scraping (HTML, selectors, anti-bot best practices).
• Basic NLP or OpenAI API usage for text extraction.
• Database know-how for storing and comparing datasets.
• Excellent written English; working German a plus.


Nice-to-Have

• Prior work with golf, sports, or club management sites.
• Experience self-hosting n8n on Docker.
• Familiarity with ChangeDetection.io or Distill.io integrations.
