Are you enthusiastic, self-assured and capable of solving complex development challenges? Join our R&D Digital Product Management team that works on making breeding and seed production field activities more digital! We need a software/backend developer (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible, permanently, to help develop innovative web applications and work with a growing and agile development team at KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Lower Saxony. After an onboarding phase we could align on remote work within Germany. Join us to create and maintain advanced GIS-based web applications in the internal platform to plan and document breeding and production field activities.


What you’ll do:
• Develop new web-based applications (as part of a broader software platform) in an established team (with focus on DevOps and backend stories)
• Maintain the existing core application and support the transition to a modular landscape
• Research and problem-solve for creative and effective solutions
• Review code from other team members via Azure DevOps merge requests
• Deploy code frequently into production
• Collaborate with other team members to find solutions and meet deadlines
• Maintenance of GIS server landscape (ESRI) and CI/CD pipelines


What you need:
• Several years of experience in backend development with .Net frameworks (ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework Core)
• Proficient in C#
• Experience with relational database systems like Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
• Ability to create and maintain Docker files and related pipelines
• Genuinely warm and approachable person with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, e.g. to moderate decision making within the team
• Willingness to engage with geo information systems (GIS)
• Intrinsic motivation to understand the systems data architecture and infrastructure
• Knowledge of web technologies (Typescript, CSS, Angular) and mobile technologies (e.g. hybrid solutions or PWA)
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Very good English language skills (spoken and written)


What would be nice to have, but we can also support in training it:
• Knowledge of GIS software (e.g. ESRI, Leaflet, Mapbox) and GIS data management
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines
• Experience with DevOps platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jira, GitLab etc.
• Experience with non-relational database systems like MongoDB
• Familiarity with Material Design guidelines
• Experience in agricultural domain
• German language skills
