Publishing Project: Study Card & Cheat Sheet Template Design

I am starting a publishing project for study cards and cheat sheets (DIN A4 laminated sheets, sometimes leporellos or posters). The current design is clear but outdated. I want a modern, professional one-page template that is highly functional for learning and attractive enough that customers want to pick it up immediately.




This first step is exploratory: only one page (DIN A4 or Letter) will be designed, based on my examples. I expect about 2–3 hours of work at this stage — more doesn’t make sense until I review and give feedback.




Key Requirements

• Established design principles: You must be able to name and apply proven principles (e.g., grid systems, hierarchy, Gestalt principles, color psychology, typographic rules).
• Educational focus: Optimized for study cards, not flyers or ads.
• Modern, office-ready style: Clear, structured, professional — a design that feels like 2025, not 1995.
• High attractiveness + clarity: Visually appealing, easy to scan, motivating to use.
• Fixed layout grid: Max. 3 columns (like my template). Columns can be merged into 2 or 1, but no 4+ column layouts. Blocks/boxes must fit into this structure.
• Reference-based: I will provide examples (my drafts & competitor products). Improve them, don’t reinvent the format.
• Not over-designed: Avoid playful/distracting elements. Clean typography, smart use of colors/icons.
• LaTeX-friendly: Must be reproducible with Beamer class (no complex Photoshop effects).



Deliverables

• One single-page template (DIN A4 or Letter), based on my examples.
• Clear style notes (color palette, fonts, block styles, spacing, grid rationale) so I can implement the design in LaTeX.
• All rights for the delivered design are transferred to me upon full payment of this contract.



What I expect from you

• 2–3 relevant references (educational layouts, cheat sheets, structured infographics, academic posters). General logo/marketing portfolios are not enough.
• A short note on which design principles you would apply to modernize the template while keeping clarity, attractiveness, LaTeX feasibility, and the 3-column structure in mind.
