Biologe - Zellkultur position based in Heidelberg, Germany. The role involves research on lipid metabolism in kidney physiology and pathology, employing cell culture and potentially mouse models, with regular participation in meetings and contributions to publications and grant proposals. Responsibilities

Investigate lipid metabolism in kidney physiology and pathophysiology.
Study mechanisms such as lipotoxicity, lipid droplet formation, and membrane contact sites between the endoplasmic reticulum, lipid droplets, and mitochondria under conditions of fatty acid uptake.
Utilize cell culture and, potentially, mouse models to study cell biology of lipid metabolism, particularly in the kidney.
Participate in and present at regular meetings.
Contribute to publications and grant proposals.

Qualifications

Solid expertise in molecular cell biology.
Prior experience in lipid biology is advantageous but not required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
High motivation and ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
Proficiency in English (international lab environment).
