Politician of the Year Award 2025 (Fully Funded to OYW Summit – Germany)

The One Young World Politician of the Year Award was established in 2018 to honor the most talented young politicians between the ages of 18 and 35 worldwide. The winners are chosen on the basis of their influence in their own nations and the ways in which they have utilized their positions to help youth. Launched to address the low level of youth engagement in politics, it is the first global award honoring the achievements of young politicians.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union reports that just 18.8% of MPs and 2.8% of legislators worldwide are under 40 years old. There aren’t any MPs under 30 in about 74% of the upper chambers. A generation being cut off from their country’s political processes is a serious risk that is increased by a lack of representation.

• The three winners will receive the award during the 3-6 November 2025 One Young World Summit in Munich, Germany.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Accepting the brightest young politicians from across the globe.
• Be in the 18–35 age range.

Selection Criteria:

• An international panel of judges with unmatched political acumen will choose the prize winners. The criteria for evaluating the awards will be how they have utilized their positions of authority to better their nations and communities, especially for the benefit of and representation of youth.
