PostDoc in Molecular and Oncological Gynecology - Klinik für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe

The Department of Molecular and Oncological Gynecology at the University Hospital Frankfurt invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to investigate IVT‑mRNA‑based reactivation of tumour‑suppressor pathways in ovarian cancer. The role is based in Frankfurt am Main and involves dynamic, collaborative research focused on novel therapeutic strategies to overcome drug resistance in high‑grade serous ovarian cancer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research into the role of IVT‑mRNA in restoring tumour‑suppressor genes and reversing therapy resistance.
• Design, perform and analyze mouse model experiments, including tumour induction, in‑vivo drug treatment, and bioluminescence imaging for tumour response.
• Develop patient‑derived organoid cultures and perform functional assays to assess cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis and drug sensitivity.
• Design and implement innovative combination therapies with targeted IVT‑mRNA and cis‑platin.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians to interpret results and advance the project.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in molecular biology, cancer research or a related field.
• Experience with mouse models of cancer, including tumour injection, i.p. and i.v. treatments, and in‑vivo imaging.
• Proficiency in bioluminescence‑based tumour imaging in vivo.
• FELASA certification (mandatory).
• Knowledge of oncological therapeutic strategies, including combination and target‑inhibition therapies.
• Proof of measles immunity/vaccination.
