Position Overview

The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to strengthen its efforts in understanding ecosystem responses to global change. The role will focus on building and applying ecological and climate models to assess biodiversity, ecosystem services, and sustainability pathways. The researcher will work closely with international collaborators, providing vital scientific input for climate adaptation and conservation strategies.

• PhD in ecology, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Strong quantitative background and interest in sustainability.
• Publication record demonstrating expertise in ecological or environmental modeling.
• Skills in ecosystem or climate modeling, GIS, or remote sensing.
• Experience with statistical and computational tools (R, Python, MATLAB).
• Ability to integrate ecological data with modeling approaches.

€50,000 – €57,000 per annum with full German public-sector benefits.
