Responsibilities

• Establishment and implementation of research projects and initiatives on SHM and the reliability assessment of building structures
• Further development of system identification procedures and risk‑based and probabilistic methods
• Development of assessment concepts and expert activities for the assessment of infrastructure structures, in particular bridges and offshore wind farms

Qualifications

• Successfully completed academic university degree (diploma / master’s) in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field
• Excellent dissertation in a relevant subject area with a focus on system identification / reliability assessment in structural engineering
• Experience with service life concepts in structural engineering
• Experience with system identification in structural mechanics
• Experience with Bayesian methods and machine learning approaches desirable
• Proficiency in common computer software
• Good presentation and publication skills
• International networking desirable
• Knowledge of materials technology
• Very good knowledge of load‑bearing structures in the field of bridges and/or wind energy
• Very good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
• Good communication and information behaviour, goal‑oriented and structured way of working, initiative / commitment, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate as well as conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills
