Principal Fullstack Engineer - PHP Symfony, Go and Vue.js (m/f/d)

As our new Principal Fullstack Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll combine hands-on coding with architectural leadership to help design and deliver innovative services built on top of Shopware 6.

You’ll work at the intersection of backend, frontend, and cloud technologies, building impactful features like our Shopware Analytics service and collaborating closely with the Data & AI team on cutting-edge ecommerce solutions. In this senior individual contributor role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert in your domain — driving architectural decisions, solving complex challenges, and mentoring fellow engineers to raise the technical bar across the team.

These are your tasks:

• Shopware Services Development: Implement and maintain innovative services built on top of Shopware 6, with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js) for the frontend and PHP (Symfony) or Go for the backend.
• Ownership & Impact: Take full ownership of your code and domain, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions. Our teams in the Shopware Services unit live by the motto “you build it, you run it”. Your contributions will play a key role in driving the evolution of Shopware’s Services Ecosystem and shaping the future of e-commerce.
• Diverse Development Areas: Concentrate on key areas, including our newly launched service Shopware Analytics, and other innovative services developed in collaboration with the Data & AI team.
• Agile Work: Use agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like GitHub and Confluence to ensure efficient and transparent collaboration.

This is what you’ll bring to the table:

• You have at least 7 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years as a senior and ideally in an open source environment.
• You are willing to work as a Full Stack Engineer, with a main focus on backend development.
• Your Tech Stack consists of PHP (Symfony), Go (Gin, fx), and a sprinkle of JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js).
• Ideally, you have already worked with real-time data analytics tools (e.g., ClickHouse) or are willing to learn about them.
• You already have initial experience and are interested in learning more about cloud-based solutions using AWS (ECS, ECR, DynamoDB, Kinesis Firehose, SQS) as well as GitHub, Docker, Datadog, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• You have a solid understanding of quality assurance and code reviews.
• You have a strong reliability, proactivity, and a sense of responsibility for your tasks and projects to achieve the best outcomes with your team.
• You are open to communicating in English in your daily work and thrive in an international English First environment.
