Principal Product Analyst - Growth (all genders)

Overview

Principal Product Analyst - Growth (all genders) at Zalando. The role focuses on a variety of digital experiences for customers, including Zalando Assistant, with data driving product improvement and strategic direction. You will work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Applied Scientists, and Business Leaders to understand customer engagement and influence product decisions through data insights.

What you’ll do

• Contribute to sourcing and reconcile data from across the company to produce valuable data products for you and your stakeholders’ enablement
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify product opportunities, distilling findings into clear, relevant, and impactful insights
• Be a data explorer, educator, and partner in decision-making, challenging and contributing to product decisions based on analyses
• Advise in the design of A/B tests or other quasi-experiments, analyze results, provide recommendations, and identify further opportunities
• Define key metrics to measure product performance and customer behavior
• Design and develop scalable solutions for monitoring and reporting, ensuring they provide strategic clarity
• Define data requirements and support implementation for product launches and iterations
• Mentor analysts, foster collaboration with other teams, and share knowledge within Zalando’s analytics and science community
• Serve as an interface between data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of data products and analyses

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in analytics or data science, with at least 8+ years in a data-intensive role, preferably in e-commerce or consumer tech
• Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in SQL, working with large, complex datasets
• Competency in Python (or R) for data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis
• In-depth understanding of A/B testing, including test design, execution, and analysis
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain processes, choices, trade-offs, and insights to stakeholders across all levels
• A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
