Overview

As a Principal Technical Architect reporting into the SaaS Delivery Management Office, you will be a key stakeholder supporting the project team. You will work closely with our customer partners in the implementation and conversion of their current PLM system to Windchill+. You will broker the PTC ecosystem to provide the necessary technical support required to design and configure a solution that meets the Windchill+ guardrails, and you will leverage your expertise to support the enablement of PTC’s partner ecosystem.

Your Day-To-Day

The pace of your day is fast and opportunities for learning and leadership abound. During a typical project, you will act as the SI’s trusted advisor, helping deliver value from technology and process improvements through the implementation/conversion of PTC’s Windchill+ solutions. You will have the opportunity to provide direction and delegation to a team while retaining ownership and accountability for client success. You will also help industrialize lessons learned into training materials and job aids for the broader PTC and partner communities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PTC SaaS BDMs, PLM Segment and R&D to assess technical feasibility and provide technical direction to the SI for estimating and planning.
• Coordinate with customer/SI Project/Program managers to establish timeframes, schedules, deliverables, and project cadence.
• Work with implementation partner architects to design, implement, and validate solutions deployed in Windchill Plus SaaS.
• Engage PTC R&D and PLM Segment on special projects to provide customer experience and implementer perspectives on SaaS tools and features.
• Collaborate with Partner Consultants and Developers to support configuration, data migration, and integrations aligned with client requirements.
• Engage client/partner business representatives to understand required functionality and ensure business goals are met.
• Coordinate with Client IT/IS to ensure proposed solutions follow SaaS guardrails and support build/deploy processes.
• Engage client/partner executive personnel to align program goals with high-level business objectives.
• Work with PTC and Partner Business Development leads to identify future opportunities for expansion and value.
• Support the development of artifacts, white papers, best practices, and methodologies to enable partners.

Skills and Qualifications

A Technical Architect bridges customer requirements and solution offerings. Essential skills include:

• Ability to visualize complex issues and communicate the vision to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong cross-functional communication, articulating value at both high and detailed levels.
• Capacity to understand requirements and guide stakeholders toward feasible solutions.
• Balanced analytic and creative problem-solving, mixing methodological rigor with intuitive thinking.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of consulting/implementing/deploying/supporting PLM systems or other Enterprise Applications.
• Availability for overnight travel (15%).
• Knowledge of Cloud-based infrastructure and technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Experience in software development, build and deployment (JAVA, JSP, XML, Ant).
• Windchill PLM experience.
