Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization
Operational Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Capacity & Change Management
Compliance & Standards
Process Design & Optimization
- Analyse existing cooling, power distribution, and airflow systems to identify improvements
- Develop operational process models for HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, UPS, and switchgear
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineers to implement changes that improve PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness)
Operational Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Track KPIs for power, cooling, and energy usage in real-time systems (BMS/DCIM)
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with automation engineers to refine BMS logic and set points
Capacity & Change Management
- Support capacity planning for power, cooling, and space allocation
- Define processes for change control (installation of new racks, modifications to HVAC or power configurations)
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure systems operate in line with ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and local building codes
- Maintain documentation for operational processes, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Support audits (ISO 9001, ISO 27001, environmental standards)
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Building Services (TGA), or related field
- Experience in data centres, critical facilities, or large-scale MEP projects preferred
Knowledge of:
- Cooling systems: chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, economizers
- Electrical systems: UPS, switchgear, transformers, power distribution
- Automation systems: BMS/EMS, DCIM platforms
Technical Skills
- Process modelling for energy and thermal systems
- Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, COMOS, EPLAN, or energy modelling software
- Understanding of BMS/EMS integration and control strategies
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel advanced, Power BI, SQL basics an advantage)
