Product Compliance & Safety Lead (m/f/d)

Overview

Product Compliance & Safety Lead (m/f/d) at Eleo. Lead compliance and safety activities for battery technology and electric powertrain solutions, with focus on the European and North American markets and future expansion to Asia. Collaborate across cross-functional teams to develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and procedures ensuring products meet regulatory requirements, standards, and norms.

What You Will Do

• Lead and manage a small team of industry compliance specialists across multiple locations (EMEA, USA, Asia); drive communication, collaboration, and performance.
• Regulatory Compliance Management: stay up-to-date with safety, environmental, and transportation regulations; participate in industry associations (e.g., RECHARGE, EUROBAT, EUROMOT).
• Develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies, roadmaps, and action plans for the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate product homologation activities with internal and external laboratories to obtain certifications (e.g., CE Marking, FCC).
• Maintain accurate records of compliance documentation, test reports, certifications, and technical files.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance to integrate compliance into product development and manufacturing.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage supplier and vendor compliance, including contract manufacturers and component suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Provide training and guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices related to battery technology.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or related roles in electrification.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, standards, and certifications for battery technology; active participation in industry associations (RECHARGE, EUROBAT, EUROMOT).
• Experience with compliance testing, certification processes, and working with regulators and notified bodies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• Ability to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders and travel as needed (industry events).
