As a Product Safety Engineer, you are a consultant in all safety related subjects. You balance business needs without compromising product safety, reporting directly to the Head of Product Safety.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Multi-functional collaboration and support for safe product development, engineering, and service processes, including consulting and task force involvement
• Participation in internal and external working groups and committees for the shaping of standards and regulations regarding product and functional safety
• Representation of the Siemens Energy philosophy on safety and product compliance in customer-facing roles
• Assumption of technical responsibility for the field, including participation in gate decisions, project evaluations, and audits
• Review and consultation of component and technology owners for the maintenance of procedures and the product safety concept
• Support to the Head of Product Safety in the development and implementation of a strategy for continuous improvement of product safety

What You Bring

• Master of Engineering or Science degree with longstanding experience in steam turbine engineering or equivalent work experience
• Competency in risk evaluation and risk management, along with knowledge of CE marking including the Machinery Directive and other international equivalents
• Willingness and excellent abilities for cross-disciplinary collaboration aimed at the implementation of innovative solutions
• Active collaboration and knowledge exchange with professionals within the community and selected contacts in other communities
• Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
• Willingness for travel of up to 25%
