Professorship (W3) – Quantum Software – University of Stuttgart – Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Institute: Institute of Architecture of Application Systems (IAAS)

Position Group: W3 Professor (Quantum Software)

Research Focus: Architecture, tooling, and runtime support for quantum applications; hybrid quantum applications; cloud‑based quantum architectures; and quantum computing in various application areas.

Responsibilities:

• Represent the area of quantum software within research and teaching at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology.
• Contribute to teaching, especially in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, through introductory courses in German and English.
• Solicit external funding and participate in collaborative research projects at the university.
• Collaborate within the institute and with multi‑PI initiatives such as QPhoton, IQST, GSaME, IntCDC, or Cyber Valley.

Qualifications:

• International recognition in research in quantum computing and quantum software.
• Experience in architecture of quantum applications, hybrid quantum applications, engineering and tool support, middleware and runtime environments, cloud‑ and service‑based architectures, or quantum computing in application areas.
• Strong track record of successful research grants and publication record.
• Fluency in German and English.
