    Introducing an exciting opportunity as a project pursuit leader to grow Emerson’s business by pursuing green- & brownfield projects across business units in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The role involves coordinating with business unit and global project pursuit teams focused on European growth vectors, including Sustainability and Decarbonization, Life Sciences, Semiconductors, and Metals and Mining. Within Sustainability and Decarbonization, there is an increased focus on Hydrogen, Ammonia, and Hydrogen Derivatives (Ammonia, Methanol, Others).

    If you have a proven track record of growing profitable business, bridging business unit silos, solutions-focused thinking, and engaging new target customers in the automation industry with a "Think Customer," "Resiliency," "Self-motivated," "Hunter," and "Drives for Results" mentality, this is the role for you.

    This role aims to deliver incremental profitable greenfield and brownfield project business and showcase innovative pursuit strategies for project wins in growth vector industries. You will develop and implement pursuit strategies to lead high-visibility strategic projects, using Emerson’s Project Certainty philosophy, and act as a link between customers and our business units/world area organizations. Collaboration with DACH Sales Directors, BU Champions, Account Managers, and global pursuit teams is essential to improve win potential.

    You will regularly report project progress, manage communication with management, global sales teams, and external partners like industry associations and event organizers to enhance Emerson's regional and industry recognition.

    In this role, you will:

    1. Lead BU and cross-BU pursuits across the DACH Region, developing sales strategies and engaging with end users, partners, and contractors.
    2. Manage the green/brownfield project funnel and share updates with partners.
    3. Ensure BU pursuit leadership is aligned and pursuit teams are effective.
    4. Leverage project certainty and relationship management to position strategic selling points.
    5. Support BU pursuit processes with strategic rationale and business impact cases.
    6. Champion new ideas, including positioning ISW and AspenTech solutions.
    7. Improve pursuit processes to increase success rates.
    8. Educate and innovate on business processes, tools, and methodologies.
    9. Identify new trends and develop project relationships during feasibility phases.
    10. Participate in the European growth vector community and develop European expertise.
    11. Align with and inform sales channels regularly.

    Who You Are:

    You are a strategic partner capable of building and maintaining profitable relationships, dealing constructively with complex problems, and working collaboratively to achieve goals.

    For this role, you will need:

    • Several years of professional experience in sales or service within an industrial setting.
    • A successful track record in project pursuit and relationship building with key stakeholders.
    • The ability to lead indirect teams, assign and prioritize tasks, and coordinate with global partners.
    • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
    • Availability to travel approximately % of business time within the DACH region.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Training and professional experience in chemistry, plant engineering, or process engineering (Bachelor or Master).
    • Industry fluency in Sustainability, Decarbonization, and hydrogen sectors, preferably in automation.
    • Experience with EPCs and OEMs’ project scheduling and execution methods.
