Role Description
Opuz is seeking a driven Prompt Engineer / AI Engineer to design, build, and evaluate AI systems with a high degree of reliability and accuracy, critical to the financial sector. This contract-to-hire position is ideal for a fast learner who thrives in a startup environment, can pivot quickly, and is eager to take full ownership of projects from inception to completion. You’ll collaborate with a small, high-performing team to push the limits of autonomous AI agents and redefine the future of finance.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine prompts, workflows, and evaluation frameworks for autonomous AI financial analysts.
• Conduct rigorous, finance-specific performance tests to ensure AI output is accurate, reliable, and decision-ready.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate AI agents into production systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
• Identify and implement improvements that increase model reliability and reduce error rates in financial contexts.
• Execute projects from concept to deployment, ensuring deliverables meet both technical and financial industry standards.
• Rapidly adapt to evolving priorities in a startup environment, balancing innovation with precision.
• Champion product quality by monitoring AI agents in real-world financial scenarios and iterating for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software engineering or AI-related experience (flexible for exceptional fast learners).
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
• Prior experience evaluating AI agents or a strong understanding of their functionality.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity, fast-moving environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to wear multiple hats.
• Fully remote, with at least 3–4 hours overlap with PST business hours.
• Passion for innovation in finance and AI.
