Overview
As a Proposal Project Manager (f/m/d) in our dynamic Power Plant business, you will technically direct, lead and motivate a multi-functional, global bid team to deliver high quality, competitive and innovative bids for a variety of projects. You will be responsible for the project objectives, including optimized bid concepts, cost calculations, risk management, scheduling, documentation, and budget allocation, ensuring quality and efficiency. You will track progress, coordinate, and collaborate with various disciplines, interact with customers, partners, and contractors, lead technical negotiations, and report to the management. You will contribute significantly to the overall success of Siemens Energy.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-functional bid team across different countries and units, ensuring motivation and a high-performance culture
- Define the bid strategy in collaboration with Sales and other disciplines for gas turbine-based power plants; shape major projects with substantial societal and economic influence
- Track progress, coordinate, and collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Service, Projects, Order Management, Quality, Finance, Legal and Contract Management
- Interact with customers, partners and contractors; identify technical requirements, develop competitive bid concepts, manage expectations, and lead technical negotiations
- Engage in various projects and develop solutions to complex technical challenges with your team
- Review and release technical bid documentation, cost calculations, risk management and related mitigation measures
- Support continuous improvement to increase quality and efficiency in Proposal Management
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- University degree in Engineering (Plant, Electrical, Mechanical or similar)
- Several years of experience, ideally in Power and Energy, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and/or Service
- First project management experience and experience leading interdisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a distributed team; willingness to engage in legal and commercial aspects of contract preparation
- Strategic thinking, open mindset, adaptability, flexibility, willingness to learn and improve, pragmatic and innovative problem-solving
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, work under pressure and deliver quality on deadlines
- Fluent English; German desirable; intercultural openness and willingness for occasional worldwide travel

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. We provide zero or low emission power generation and gas turbines under one roof, along with steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities arise through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
