Public Affairs Manager

Hypersonica develops hypersonic technologies and delivery systems for both military and civilian applications. The company is headquartered in Munich and has a branch in the UK.

Hypersonica is expanding both its core technical team and its political and public affairs team.

What you will do:

• Co-develop the company’s public affairs portfolio as part of Hypersonica’s Government Affairs team
• Support and where necessary deputise for Hypersonica’s Political Affairs Director
• Monitor, analyse, and report on relevant political, policy, and legislative developments in selected European countries and at the EU and NATO levels
• Ensure reliable and continuous practical support for public affairs and public communications activities

Essential qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in political science, International Relations, law, economics, European studies, or a related discipline
• Two to five years of previous work experience (including internships) in relevant fields
• Good general understanding of political, institutional, and legislative processes and willingness to learn more particularly in the area of defence & aerospace
• Culture driver with a moral compass: you take responsibility and act like a leader
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
• NATO / EU citizen; Fully proficient (CEFR A2) in English
• Willing to work in / relocate to Munich

Desirable qualifications:

• Previous experience in political institutions at the national and/or EU levels
• Previous experience or exposure to defence industry matters
• Previous experience in public affairs for a company or industry association
• Advanced level (CEFR A1) or higher in a Slavic, Scandinavian, or Baltic language
• Advanced level (CEFR A1) or higher in German
