    About this opportunity

    We are looking for a Quality Manager to join us at Crown in Saarlouis, Germany.

    Since acquiring this modern beverage can manufacturing plant in 2023, Crown have been developing the team and the production process, demonstrating our signature focus on safety, sustainability, innovation and quality.

    We now have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to join our plant management team to lead and develop all aspects of site quality.

    The purpose of the role is to ensure that the highest quality and customer service standards are met and maintained, whilst developing and driving improvements in Quality and in other areas throughout the plant.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Ensure a customer-focused, quality mind-set that ensures the delivered quality of finished goods and incoming raw materials
    • Represent / translate the "Voice of the Customer" to other plant functions
    • Lead Risk Analyses and FMEA covering all departments to guarantee seamless processes and the highest quality standards
    • Lead and develop a team to support high standards of product quality and compliance
    • Play a key role in site customer liaison and internal/external supplier relationships
    • Manage the Quality and Food Safety System and Standards (ISO9001 and FSSC)
    • Quality & Food Safety initiatives
    • Reduce costs of non-quality through the site continuous improvement process
    • Manage product specifications and changes
    • Identify and promote internal training as required to meet and improve site standards

    Required Education and Experience

    • A Degree or Diploma at degree level in Engineering or another relevant subject
    • 5 to 10 years quality management experience, preferably gained within the manufacturing sector
    • Experience of achieving change in a fast paced, demanding environment
    • Demonstrable experience of achieving results as part of a plant management team
    • Experience of auditing and/or managing audit processes

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Sound knowledge of quality standards (ISO, FSSC, AIB, etc).
    • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools
    • Pragmatic skills in process capability analysis (Statistical Process Controls)
    • Familiarity with quality management software
    • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
    • Organisational and problem-solving skills
    • Team player, with a safety mind-set
    • Fluent German and English
