Job Requirements

  • A degree in Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven operational experience in ground operations and LEOP activities.
  • Knowledge of TT&C systems, ground networks, and mission control infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ground segment monitoring, telemetry handling, mission readiness testing and validation campaigns.
  • Understanding of CCSDS/ECSS RF standards.
  • Solid knowledge of RF comms and protocol stacks.
  • Experience with S/X/Ka-band operations and link budgets.
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and assess relevant inputs for the preparation of RF Compatibility Tests and support their execution, in coordination with the engineering teams.
  • Monitor and ensure that the RF compatibility tests are executed as per agreed plan and procedures.
  • Prepare and participate in the procurement of new Network Data Interface Units (NDIU).
  • Define, implement and document RF documentation such as validation test plans, procedures and reports after the test campaign.
  • Perform the validation of the NDIU system as per agreed configuration and procedures and prepare associated test report.
  • Assist NDIU operations during the execution of critical spacecraft tests, such as Spacecraft Validation Tests (SVT) and critical mission phases, such as LEOP, including working in shifts and extended hours, and provision of on-call support.
  • Support the provision of RF consultancy during the preparation of a mission, including link budget calculation and analysis and Ground Station configuration assessment.
  • Analyze the requirements for upgrading an existing subsystem or installing a new one at a ground station.
  • Conduct test campaigns for the validation of a given subsystem at the ground station in close coordination with the maintenance and operations team and the Ground Station engineers.
  • Supervise and provide training sessions for other team members.
  • Work closely with the Station Engineers and Managers, and various engineering and local maintenance and operations teams.
