    The R&D engineer in the field of dental ceramics will be responsible for the development, testing, and qualification of dental glasses. Your tasks will include:
    • Conducting tests to determine the optical and mechanical properties of reactive and inactive dental glass powders
    • Silanization of dental glass powders on a laboratory scale at the request of the business team
    • Grinding of dental glasses on a laboratory and pilot scale (including ball mill, agitator mill, PicoJet)
    • Evaluating the bioactivity of beer glasses in simulated body fluid
    • Preparing test solutions and monomer mixtures
    • Particle size analysis with various measuring devices
    • Supervising the dental glass laboratory, including equipment maintenance and supplier contact
    • Creating work and operating instructions for tests and laboratory processes
    • Documentation and reporting
    • Close cooperation with business, production, quality, and other R&D teams
    • Creation of BANFs
    • Maintenance and updating of the hazardous substances register and operating instructions for RD-Specialty Glass
    • Project-related documentation within the scope of RD-SG projects
    Required Skills:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Inorganic Chemistry, with proven experience in the development and testing of dental glasses or bioglasses
    • 1–2 years of professional experience, preferably in research and development of glass, glass- ceramics, or ceramics
    • Solid expertise in glass and ceramic material processing techniques, including milling, drying, and surface treatments such as silanization
    • Advanced proficiency in material characterization and validation methods, including rheometry, colorimetry/UV-VIS spectrometry, particle size analysis, mechanical strength testing, and both optical- and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
    • Excellent communication skills, with a structured and analytical approach to work, strong time management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Highly organized with demonstrated intercultural competence
    • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
