Role Overview 
For our client, a European leader in Satellite and Space Technology, we are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to support the operations and development of ocean altimetry satellite missions within a leading space and Earth observation program. The successful candidate will play a key role in processing, calibration, validation, and enhancement of altimeter data products, supporting current and upcoming satellite missions. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Support operational processing of altimetry data, handling anomalies, change requests, and regression testing 
 - Plan and execute calibration, validation, and monitoring activities of altimeter products 
 - Prepare for and complete commissioning activities for new satellite missions 
 - Develop and prototype new algorithms and contribute to operational processor implementations 
 - Assist in the development of Ground Segment software and tools for upcoming missions 
 - Define requirements and improve altimetry products and data services in response to user needs 
 - Initiate and manage studies related to altimetry processing and calibration 
 - Engage with scientific and operational stakeholders, including international partners 
 - Provide expertise for re-processing data for climate and environmental applications 
 - Maintain in-depth knowledge of altimeter instrument capabilities 
  
Qualifications and Skills 
- Advanced degree in oceanography, remote sensing, physics, meteorology, or related field 
 - Strong scientific knowledge of ocean altimetry observations and measurement techniques 
 - Experience with calibration, validation, and data processing algorithm development 
 - Proficiency in UNIX environments and programming in Python and/or Matlab (C/C++ is a plus) 
 - Familiarity with wide altimetry user communities and Earth observation programs 
 - Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills 
 - Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal abilities
