Risk Manager als Vice President Energy Markets (f / m / d)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement holistic risk strategies and frameworks aligned with the Group’s risk appetite and strategic goals. Keep abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure frameworks remain relevant and effective.
• Provide strong leadership to the Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Quantitative Risk teams. Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Promote a Data Driven Business approach within EEM and establish a cross-functional CFRO Data Team (to be confirmed).
• Prepare materials for Market Committees, communicate risk profiles, and recommend actions to support informed decision-making. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address risk-related inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of risk assessment methodologies, pricing models, and key risk metrics.
• Lead the implementation of consistent risk frameworks and models across regions through effective functional steering.
• Monitor risk limits and triggers, taking appropriate actions to manage potential exposures.
• Collaborate with trading, IT, and business operations teams to develop meaningful risk reporting and controls.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in risk management within the energy or commodity industry. Ability to establish risk appetite and implement effective risk management frameworks.
• Deep understanding of trading and portfolio management, advocating active, value-creating risk management.
• Proven track record of leading and managing risk management teams, inspiring and motivating team members.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex risk concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Structured approach to identifying functions and departments where digital tools and talent can have the most impact.
