SAP EDM Consultant – Hybrid – 6 Months + German speaking
Whitehall Resources are currently seeking an experienced SAP EDM Consultant for an exciting freelance opportunity with a client of ours in Germany.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing, configuring, and supporting Energy Data Management solutions within SAP IS-U, ensuring accurate metering, data exchange, and compliance with German market requirements.
- Location: Frankfurt or Munich, Germany
- Start Date: ASAP (Will wait notice)
- Type: Freelance
- Workload: Full time (some onsite needed)
- Language: German + English
Key Responsibilities
* Configure and maintain SAP IS-U EDM modules (including profiles, time series, and data aggregation).
* Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP EDM solutions.
* Manage meter reading, billing integration, and settlement processes for electricity and gas.
* Perform root-cause analysis and resolve incidents related to EDM.
* Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams (Billing, Device Management, Market Communication).
* Ensure compliance with German regulatory and utility industry standards.
* Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years hands-on experience with SAP IS-U EDM.
* Strong understanding of German energy market processes (electricity and/or gas).
* Experience with time series management, interval data, and load profile processing.
* Familiarity with SAP IDE, IDoc processing, and integration to external systems.
* Knowledge of SAP ABAP debugging for issue resolution (basic level).
* Fluent German (C1+) and good English communication skills.
