As a SCADA Architect, you will be a key contributor to the development of next-generation Control & Protection HVDC and FACTS systems. You will design and implement holistic SCADA and communication architectures, including HMI visualization and communication functionalities in a challenging environment. Your role bridges the gap between system-level concept creation and hands-on engineering, ensuring robust, modular, scalable, and innovative SCADA solutions.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• You are a part of the Operation Level Software Team in the Control & Protection (C&P) Platform development with focus on R&D activities.
• You design holistic SCADA system architectures for critical infrastructure HVDC and FACTS platforms, including HMI components, communication gateways and monitoring functionalities.
• You interpret abstract requirements and translate them into system-level requirement and operational concept specifications.
• You work hand in hand with IT, IT‑Sec, Communication Network and Control architects to incorporate Security by Design for innovative distributed SCADA systems with multiple stations and subunits.
• You are a crucial stakeholder towards plant data modeling for devices set‑up and deployment process, signal management in the data‑driven engineering process framework.
• You support the full development lifecycle: requirements engineering, concept creation, implementation, testing, and project delivery and act as a technical interface between R&D projects, customer project execution teams, and development teams.

What You Bring

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in complex SCADA system development, involving but not limited to e.g. Copa Data Zenon, WinCC OA, SCIAM SCC (WinCC Classic), IPCOMM Protocol Converter or comparable.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols: IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑101/104, OPC UA, DNP3 in focus with data modeling in database structures and solid knowledge of network communication (IPv4, TCP/UDP) protocols.
• Experience in technical project management and cross‑functional coordination and analytical mindset with a proactive and solution‑oriented approach.
• Domain knowledge of HVDC and FACTS station types a plus.
• Fluency in German and English.
