Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business makes sure we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. As an Area Manager, you'll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, while managing various projects across our network to drive productivity.

• Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
• Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality within your area
• Assess shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence
• Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices

A day in the life

Work on the night shift at one of our sites, focusing on productivity, safety, and quality standards. You will oversee process improvements and drive their implementation. Your day may include team management, operational tasks, process improvements, and contingency planning. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

About the team

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) handles heavy items like furniture and large appliances, managing the entire process from supply chain to delivery and returns. We provide exceptional customer care by delivering, unpacking, assembling, installing, and removing old items. We are expanding our fulfillment centers and delivery stations across the UK and Europe. Our team includes professionals from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management, all crucial to our growth.

Basic qualifications include a degree, relevant people management experience, stakeholder communication skills, data-driven decision-making ability, and proficiency in English and local language. Preferred qualifications such as experience with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, logistics environments, and MS Office are advantageous but not mandatory.
