At Upvest, we are on a mission to make investing as easy as spending money. We are building the first European Investment API that empowers businesses to offer seamless investment experiences to their users. What you’ll do

• Act as a security subject matter expert for the entire company, operating across multiple disciplines from application and cloud security to GRC. Your primary focus will be on partnering with Product Engineering teams to embed a "secure by default" mindset.
• Perform detailed security architecture reviews of new functionality (facilitating threat modeling is a plus).
• Field security questions and requests, with a goal to mentor and educate.
• Scale the security team by identifying areas where security tasks can be automated and improved.
• Work with the cloud (Google Cloud is a plus) and address its security challenges.
• Ensure technical measures across product and cloud meet standards, obligations, regulations and certifications (ISO27001, ISAE3402 Type 2, DORA, etc).
• Drive high-impact initiatives and be a present security advocate.

What you bring

• A real passion for information security, with a desire for knowledge sharing and educating others.
• Experience in Cyber Security and a related degree.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, incident response frameworks such as NIST/SANS, threat hunting).
• Experience with SSDLC security improvements, socialization, and implementation.
• Experience with threat modeling or security reviews.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain security concepts to diverse audiences.

Your Plus Would Be

• Familiarity with Google Cloud.
• Passion for DevSecOps.
• Experience with Go.
• Familiarity with EDR and SIEM solutions.
• Ideally based in Berlin; relocation support available if you’re elsewhere and want to move.
