Your Mission

As a Senior AI / ML Ops Engineer at Sealenic, you’ll play a vital role in transforming decision-making for both on-shore and off-shore teams in the shipping industry. The systems you’ll help design and build will have a direct impact on the frontline of the maritime sector, which facilitates over 90% of global trade. You’ll work closely with product and technical teams to develop and maintain the data infrastructure behind our cutting-edge SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll not only drive the development of robust data pipelines, but also influence the data architecture that powers our innovative products.



About The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior AI / ML Ops Engineer to join our team full-time to develop the data platform that will revolutionise decision-making in the shipping industry. The role offers exciting opportunities to work with large-scale data, Generative AI technologies, and dynamic data environments.



Responsibilities
• Shape the technical vision and roadmap for our AI/ML platform, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of ML services: Data pipelines, Agentic patterns, model fine‑tuning and training, deployment, and monitoring
• Participate in architecting and operating services (including our MCP server) for inference, function‑calling, and orchestration at scale
• Design and integrate ontology‑driven knowledge graphs and vector‑search pipelines (embeddings, retrieval workflows)
• Build and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS Lambda, ECS, S3 etc) for cost‑efficient, low‑latency inference
• Establish MLOps best practices: CI/CD for models (MLflow), testing frameworks (unit, integration, A/B), and robust logging/alerting
• Mentor and coach fellow engineers, run code reviews, and evangelize Responsible AI and continuous improvement


Qualifications
• Strong technical background in software engineering, machine learning, or AI product development.
• Deep knowledge of data and AI ecosystems, patterns and frameworks(LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, RAG, model tuning, evaluation).
• 4+ years designing and operating cloud‑native applications (AWS) for AI workloads
• Proven track record owning the technical direction of large‑scale systems and coaching junior engineers
• Experience in model fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, function calling, and retrieval‑based methods
• Strong background in feature engineering, model evaluation/diagnostics, and real‑time monitoring
• Master’s degree in CS, AI/ML or equivalent practical experience

• Languages & Frameworks: Python Fast API (expert)
• AI/ML: LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow
• MLOps & Pipelines: MLflow, Kubeflow, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), AWS (CDK/Cloudformation/Terraform)
• Data & Search: ETL workflows, SQL/NoSQL, vector stores, graph databases
• Cloud & Infra: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, Aurora, CloudWatch), Docker
• Monitoring & Testing: pytest/jest,CloudWatch, Postman/Newman
