Senior Analytics Engineer (all genders)

Overview

Contabo is seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Analytics Engineer to start as soon as possible. We are remote-first, with the option to work hybrid or on-site depending on proximity to one of our locations.

Responsibilities

You will bridge business and technology by engaging with stakeholders from Marketing, Finance, Product, and Operations, understanding requirements, and translating them into data solutions that create real business value. You will design KPIs, develop dashboards, onboard additional departments into our BI systems, and help ensure that everyone in the company can make data-driven decisions. You will build robust data pipelines, model and transform data, ensure data quality, and drive automation to establish scalable processes within our modern BI stack. This role also involves expanding and strengthening a central data interface within the company and becoming the face behind our data.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in BI Engineering, Data Analytics, or as an Analytics Engineer
• Strong SQL skills and experience in data modeling, transformation, and optimization
• Solid expertise with the BI stack (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, Power BI)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – from requirements gathering to presenting insights to non-technical audiences
• Experience balancing technical work (pipelines, data models) with business-facing tasks (reporting, dashboards, KPIs)
• High sense of ownership, assertiveness, and the ability to drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools (Airflow, Talend, or low-code tools such as n8n/Make) (Should-have)
• Strong knowledge of KPI frameworks, data visualization, and dashboard design
• Knowledge of Python, R, or advanced SQL; German language skills (Nice-to-have)
• Experience in SaaS, cloud hosting, or subscription-based business models (Nice-to-have)
