Your Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Animator (Mocap + Keyframe) to bring our characters and creatures to life with high-quality, realistic animations. You will work closely with tech artists, AI programmers and game designers to ensure smooth integration of animations into gameplay.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality motion capture and keyframe animations for players, NPCs, and creatures.
• Coordinate, process and clean motion capture animations, enhancing performance while maintaining realism.
• Work closely with tech artists, AI programmers and game designers to ensure seamless animation transitions and fluid character movements.
• Create or enhance animations in Unreal Engine 5, using Control Rigs and the Sequencer.
• Develop and maintain animation pipelines, ensuring efficiency and high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with tech artists, AI programmers and game designers to refine animations for combat, locomotion, and interactions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in game animation, preferably in AAA or high-quality indie projects.
• Expertise in motion capture pipelines, including data cleanup and retargeting.
• Strong skills in keyframe animation, with an eye for weight, timing, and natural motion.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, including Control Rig and the Sequencer.
• Experience working with Maya, MotionBuilder, or Blender for animation production.
• Understanding of character rigs, IK/FK systems, and physics-based animations.
• A strong artistic eye with technical problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English (German is a plus).
• Onsite position.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-driven animation systems (e.g., Motion Matching, Procedural Animation).
• Knowledge of Niagara VFX and dynamic interactions.
• Passion for medieval survival and city-building games.
