About The Team




What you’ll do & Who you are

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of our Consumer Teams at mobile.de working with customer engagement products. We are looking for a skilled Backend developer to join us; someone who can solve complex engineering problems with a strong user focus and loves to work with passionate and engaged people in one of the world’s leading automotive platforms. You will work in an agile and cross-functional team together with frontend and native app engineers, a product owner, a UX designer, a product analyst and CRM experts to enable our customers to find their dream vehicle.




What you’ll do

• Build a phenomenal product for our users in a pragmatic, agile and scalable way
• Develop and maintain backend solutions for our consumer-facing applications
• Holistically own the entire development and release cycle from specification to running in production together with your cross-functional team
• Be an active and engaged partner for product, UX, business and your peers.
• Ensure the quality of your product because you understand that quality is the responsibility of the entire team
• Dedicate up to 30% of working time to maintain the code quality and contribute to initiatives related to application improvements and best practices
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends. Learn new tech and non-tech related skills to grow yourself and your team
• Participate in design decisions and code reviews



Who you are

• You have at least 2-3 years of experience developing Java/Spring Boot based backend services
• You have experience with relational, non-relational and object databases like MySQL and MongoDB
• You have working experience with ElasticSearch
• You know how messaging systems (e.g. Kafka) work and have used them successfully
• You have knowledge about supporting build and deploy technologies (e.g. Maven/Gradle, Docker)
• You have experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Agile development methodologies and continuous improvement of your team are your preferred way of working
• You have strong communication skills and you are fluent in English (German is a plus)
