Role

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Aignostics, you work with collaborators in academia and industry to push the state of the art for digital pathology. You build data infrastructure and transactional services powering external and internal APIs. You scope, drive and own projects and services that support scaling in a data intensive setting and lead improvements of our SaaS product and services.

Where your expertise is needed

• Help us build infrastructure to work with medical image data at a large scale
• Design and develop services and core libraries for our SaaS platform
• Ensure reliable, high throughput access to data for machine learning
• Maintain and expand our data management infrastructure
• Lead initiatives, evaluate new technologies and integrate into our codebase
• Eagerness to take ownership from inception to completion while keeping business context in mind
• Communicate closely with frontend and machine learning teams
• Perform code reviews, focusing on readability, design and performance

What we are looking for

• Bachelor and/or Master in a relevant field or extensive work experience
• 6+ years of software development experience, ideally in a data-driven environment
• Experience leading a technical initiative with cross-team impact
• Strong background in software development, ideally Python
• Experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS) and their services
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with database systems
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and other standards to keep up code quality
• Driven self-starter, well-organized, excellent communication skills and a strong team player

Ideally, You Also Have

• Experience in leading a team
• Experience with data processing systems
• Developed software in a regulated environment
