(Senior) Commodity Accountant m/f/t

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated (Senior) Commodity Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the commodity accounting closing process for individual trading desks, working closely with Controlling / Risk and other accounting teams. You will play a crucial role in reconciling IAS financials with internal performance reporting, with a specific focus on the Income Statement.

• Support the Commodity Accounting closing process, ensuring smooth month / quarter / year-end procedures
• Reconcile performance reporting (full fair value view) to IFRS (and HGB) standards
• Post unrealized derivatives and accruals for realized transactions
• Collaborate closely with accounting principles and risk teams to evaluate, assess, and process new transactions
• Analyze and identify technical accounting, process, and system-related data issues, providing transparency to management
• Provide support for accounting-related projects
• Hold a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German accounting standards (HGB)
• Strong analytical skills, with experience working with complex data (e.g., SQL)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
• Demonstrated commitment, initiative, and ability to work well within a team
• Openness to taking on new tasks and a strong willingness to develop professionally

Advantageous, but not a must

• Familiarity with SAP FI and S/4HANA
• Experience in the field of risk management and valuation or controlling
• Experience in the field of commodity trading
