DUAL Deutschland GmbH is part of the DUAL Group, London. The DUAL Group has been operating since 1998 and is one of the world's largest international underwriting agencies. As a managing general agent, DUAL Deutschland works with insurance companies on their behalf to assess risks, calculate premiums and draw up policies. DUAL also handles claims settlement and debt collection.
Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Cologne, DUAL Deutschland initially operated primarily as an MGA for financial lines with a specialisation in D&O insurance. M&A, fidelity, cyber, accident& health, financial loss liability, fine art and engineering & construction insurance now complement the company's steadily growing product portfolio. Policyholders are served from offices in Cologne, Hamburg and Frankfurt. Customers are primarily banks and other financial services institutions, but also medium-sized companies from a wide range of industries.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Controller (all genders) to join our dynamic international finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for financial oversight across multiple European entities and play a key part in enhancing our controlling processes.
Location: Cologne (Germany)
Your resposibilities:

• Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly and annual reports and monitoring forecasts and budgets for various countries within Europe
• Ad hoc analyses for the management
• Carrying out variance analyses and deriving recommendations for action
• Support with strategic financial projects
• Further development of controlling instruments, independent realisation of own projects to improve finance processes
• Liaising with international subsidiaries and internal stakeholders
• Reporting to management in German and English
• Cash Flow statements analysis
• Balance sheet variance analysis
• Close cooperation with the accounting department, the parent company in the UK and the other European DUAL units
• Use of Excel for modelling, analysis and visualisation of complex data
  

Your profile:

• Degree in business administration, finance or comparable qualification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in controlling, ideally in the insurance industry
• Experience in consulting/advisory services could be beneficial
• Very good knowledge of MS Excel (incl. Pivot, Power Query, complex formulas)
• Experience in international companies and multicultural teams
• Business fluent in written and spoken English as well as German
• Analytical thinking and structured way of working
• High level of initiative and sense of responsibility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international team
• Ability to present complex issues in an understandable way
