Overview
Senior Director, Strategic HRBP, Germany (m/f/d) at Bristol Myers Squibb . This role provides strategic partnership to local senior leaders and orchestrates the delivery of people programs and solutions. The Senior Director reports to the VP, Strategic HRBP International and, for Germany, acts as a business partner to the GM of Germany (located in Munich) as part of the local leadership team. The goal is to build teams that drive business priorities, maximize performance and effectiveness, support business continuity, and deliver against the people strategy.
Location: Munich, Germany. Consideration of remote work up to 50% of the time may be discussed with the Manager, based on role requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR Business Partner expertise to the Germany GM and leadership team to maximize organizational performance.
- Directly support or allocate resources to critical local business or functional initiatives through ongoing prioritization.
- Translate business strategy and organizational needs into organizational performance solutions, including organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and culture change.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to monitor external environment and define future workforce requirements; articulate people needs to COEs and deploy programs to bring value to the business.
- Drive the local People strategy and provide guidance to COEs and People Services leaders for effective global deployment of People activities.
- Analyze key data and trends to drive organizational effectiveness and develop a workforce plan aligned with business strategy.
- Support succession planning, talent retention, and pipeline initiatives as necessary for external talent.
- Collaborate with the International HRBP team and lead or participate in regional/global initiatives.
- Implement global initiatives locally through innovative labor relations strategies.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable BMS policies and local laws and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant (10+ years) leadership experience in HR business partner roles.
- Strong leadership skills and experience navigating HR operating models (COEs, operational teams, etc.).
- Proven track record in a global multinational corporation; experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- University degree (advanced degree preferred).
- Demonstrated success working at executive management levels with impact and influence.
- Experience in driving labor relations.
- Ability to adapt across cultures, work styles, complexities, business situations, and matrix partners.
- Proven track record in developing people and leaders.
- Experience in operating effectively in a complex matrix, cross-functional, and team environment.
- Ability to provide a strong voice to markets through the International HRBP team.
- Demonstrated use of communication and change management strategies to influence new ways of thinking and working.
- Broad experience using external and internal networks in strategic activities to achieve better talent outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and drive necessary change; proactive problem prevention.
- Experience using data and analytics to drive business and talent decisions.
- Project management skills.
- Fluent in English.
