Senior Engineer – Python · GCP · LLMs/NLP

An early-stage startup is looking for a Senior Engineer to guide a small, cross-functional team (4) in delivering impactful solutions through fast, iterative development cycles. The team is building a platform that leverages large language models (LLMs) to convert literature into structured knowledge, helping accelerate discovery



Key Responsibilities
• Drive the technical vision and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Define and evolve the architecture for data ingestion, processing, and user interface layers.
• Design, develop, and deploy LLM/NLP pipelines.
• Build using Python, GCP, TypeScript, and a mix of open-source and commercial LLMs (e.g., Hugging Face).
• Offer hands-on support to engineers and help remove technical blockers.
• Collaborate closely with domain experts to solve real-world scientific challenges.
• Focus on execution and outcomes, rather than people management.



Requirements
• Strong experience with Python and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Practical knowledge of LLMs or machine learning,
• Clear communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Plus if you have experience with Bio Tech or Drug discovery



Nice to Have
• Experience with open source or freemium product development.
