Overview

As part of our Grid & Infrastructure team, we are seeking a Senior Grid Connection Manager (m/f/d) to strengthen our relationships with grid operators and guide projects from connection request to realization. You will own all activities related to connecting assets to the grid, from feasibility and connection applications to design coordination and interaction with DSOs and TSOs. You will be a key interface between Terra One and grid operators, ensuring projects are grid-ready and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships in the electricity network space.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of grid connection processes for battery energy storage projects in Germany.
• Identify suitable grid connection points and evaluate technical and commercial connection feasibility.
• Lead and coordinate grid connection applications with DSOs/TSOs, including grid studies, technical clarifications, and connection agreements.
• Serve as the main point of contact for network operators, ensuring proactive communication and trust-based relationships.
• Collaborate with internal teams (project development, permitting, engineering) and external consultants to align grid-related activities.
• Support strategic assessments on grid availability, capacity planning, and regulatory developments affecting project pipelines.
• Contribute to internal knowledge building on grid-related topics and best practices.

• You understand how grid operators (DSOs and TSOs) work, including inside perspectives.
• You can “speak the same language” as grid operators and navigate their structures, processes, and decision-making frameworks.
• You are comfortable operating in both technical and strategic settings, from system studies to high-level grid strategy discussions.
• You can manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• You are motivated by impact and contributing to a more flexible and resilient energy system.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in grid connection, network planning, or system operation.
• Experience with DSOs/TSOs (grid access, system planning, or grid strategy) or significant collaboration with grid operators in consulting or project development.
• Proven track record in managing grid connection processes for renewable or storage projects.

Skills

• Strong understanding of German and European grid codes and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Fluency in German and English (both required).
• Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into actionable project steps.
