Senior Mechatronics Integration Engineer (f/m/d) at Orbem. Orbem is an impact-driven deep-tech scaleup with global reach, founded in Munich, Germany and expanding to Houston, Texas. We develop fast, accurate, and accessible imaging solutions to unlock knowledge and support sustainable, healthy futures.

Job location: Munich (hybrid, full-time). Start date: as soon as possible. Salary: €70,000 - €75,000 plus equity (€20,000 - €40,000) and up to €5,000 annual benefits.

Your role

You - literally - build our products. You define requirements specs, drawings, and test scenarios for product components. You work closely with suppliers and software teams to evaluate prototypes and define final product components.

Your day to day

• Define technical requirements for system components
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on the best solutions
• Test early-stage prototypes and final solutions according to the requirements
• Drive documentation in alignment with international standards

Responsibilities and requirements

• As a member of the System Engineering and Integration team, enable compliant and reliable AI-powered MRI solutions
• Defining technical requirements for system components
• Testing and validating prototypes and final solutions
• Bridge mechanical, software, and electronics engineering to deliver integrated products

Skills and experience

• Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems
• CAD design for polymers and metal components; experience with DFM principles (AutoDesk Fusion preferred)
• Ability to bridge mechanical, software, and electronics engineering; define requirements and engineering test protocols
• Experience with electrical components for industrial control panels (PLCs, servos, sensors, power supplies)
• Design and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams; familiarity with EPLAN Electric
• Experience with fieldbus protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT)

• Experience guiding and training junior engineers
• Background in medical imaging technologies and understanding of product lifecycle from design to installation
