Senior Network and IT Specialist

The Senior Network and IT Specialist is responsible for operational quality within the network infrastructure, for associated analysis it and for leading technical projects in the network, backbone and automation areas.




Reports to

Reports to the Director of Operations.




Responsibilities

Network and IT Performance

• Fast and high-quality implementation of customer orders;
• Second-/third-level support network and network security at customers’ premises;
• Change/incident/problem management;
• Maintenance of the internal network and internal systems;
• Monitoring, expansion and optimization of system landscapes incl. documentation.



Project Management

• Analysis, consultation on and implementation of challenging IT security projects;
• Interdepartmental capacity planning, project planning and implementation;
• Age- and technology-related replacement of systems and infrastructure;
• Plan and set up administration and documentation systems within the framework of certification requirements;
• Ensure that work is carried out correctly, on time and in accordance with applicable processes and procedures;
• Assist with budget planning and controlling (project-related).



Security and Compliance

• Protection of the underlying network infrastructure against unauthorized access, misuse, malfunction and changes;
• Carry out pen testing and vulnerability scans;
• Report security incidents and phishing attacks;
• Assist with internal and external audits.



Team Management

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of IT professionals.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the IT department;
• Provide disciplinary and technical leadership to the team.



Knowledge Management

• Establishment and maintenance of documentation platforms for the system landscapes.



Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field/working and thinking level;
• At least five years of relevant work experience and in-depth knowledge in the field of networks and security;
• Affinity with the data center/IT industry;
• Project management experience;
• A high degree of customer and service orientation as well as strong social and leadership skills;
• Strong analytical skills, hands-on mentality and understanding of complex relationships;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German;
• Ability to perform under pressure, analyse problems quickly, make decisions and monitor outcomes;
• Desire to build, create, take initiative, and optimize.
